Jewelry Care
Mazahri believes in wearing your fine jewelry pieces as much as you’d like and in whatever ways fit your lifestyle. Proper care for your Mazahri and other fine jewelry pieces can help increase their lifespan and allow you to pass on your precious pieces to future generations.
The gold and gemstones used in your jewelry are natural elements which can be vulnerable to damage from extreme temperatures, harsh chemicals, abrasives, and excess moisture. Be aware of your fine jewelry when engaging in activities which may expose them to damaging conditions. Storing your pieces individually in the silk pouches we provide can help to avoid scuffs and scratches as well. Please note that certain stones, such as lapis and turquoise, are softer than others, such as diamonds, rubies and sapphires. Emeralds are harder than turquoise but softer than sapphires. Please take extra care in storing your pieces with softer stones so they are not scratched or damaged by pieces with harder stones.
Mild soap, warm water and a baby soft toothbrush or cloth are best to use for cleaning the majority of your Mazahri pieces. But please note that certain stones are more delicate than others. Lapis and turquoise are porous stones and need extra attention to keep them in their best condition. Do not use commercial jewelry cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners to clean lapis or turquoise pieces, this can damage and discolor the the stone. Please do not use abrasive brushes to clean either stone, opt for a soft cloth and a dab of water to clean your lapis and turquoise pieces.
Routine cleaning and wiping of your pieces after wear can also help to avoid any buildup of oils or other substances. Remember to store your jewelry separately in their provided pouches or in other soft fabric lined compartments. Also consider insuring your Mazahri pieces and always store them in a dry and safe place.
